I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. Romans 8:18 niv

We also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5:3-4

Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. James 1:12

The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. 1 John 2:17

He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge." Psalm 91:4

~ INTRODUCTION ~

Greetings My Friends In Christ, Yes Reverend Howard is a True Friend of My wife Mary and myself and so many hundreds of you out there and I felt The Lord urging me to make this Tribute Page to Reverend Harold and Flora Howard and their many years of Dedication to the Ministry serving God and spreading His Word and Inspiration in many Churches and after his retierment, their starting the cyber Church, God's Meeting House, for the many shut-ins and people that can not get out to a church of their choosing on Sunday mornings. So I am making this page just like God's Meeting House with Christian Hymns and the words to sing along with, Scripture, his great Sermon,

Many years ago I came across, God's Meeting House on the internet and, I found it to be like I was sitting in a church, with Hymns to sing along with, advice and a new sermon every Sunday! and then came the calling to recieve Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior I was already a Christian but was very moved and inspired by the powerful words of this Man Of God. Also I noted at the end of the service there was a link to the prayer room, oh it was wondeful, at the time my older brother in Seattle had been diagnosed with pancriatic cancer and was told he had about 3 mounts to live, I emailed Rev. Howard and introduced myself and inclosed my WebSite, told him about my brother and requested he be placed on the prayer list.

The Next Sunday and on it appeared, The Result...... My brother improved and lived for more that 5 years after that doctors prediction...Prayer Works!! And it has worked over and over again as you will see in these pages.

Reverend Howard and I continued our e-mail and exchanging our mail outs and my new pages and I felt like he was like a mentor to me, as I learned and discovered so much in my Christian life. A wonderful friend was forwarding on Reverend Howards e-mail anouncing God's Meeting House each week, than she went from Webtv to a computer to work full time for God, making her wonderful Christian webpages, So I just continued sending them out, I made a Sig on my e-mail using graphics of a banner, "God's Meeting House" and a beautiful church with a Christian wav playing when it was opened, It went over good and people on my mailing list started sending it out to their friends, and then Reverend Howard and I began phone conversations and Folks that bring us up to date. Reverend Howard is 93 years young and just had cancer sergery on 1/3/11 and we do not know how long he can keep up God's Meeting House, And I am asking all of you to Lift him up in your prayers, for God Loves Him and We do Also.
God Bless You All,

WEDNESDAY Feb, 16th. 2011 7:00 P.M. CST Tonight I recieved a phone call from Florida from a very happy man, my friend Reverend Howard had recieved the e-mail I sent out today releasing this New page I made as a Tribute to him, his late wife Flora and God's Meeting House, he was very excited about the page, he said he felt he was in God's Meeting House and was so surprised and that it was done so well he said he knows of three souls that were saved watching God's Meeting House and if just one was saved all my work had been worthwhile an that he and his daughter had really enjoyed my Website and he had sent it on to others. He said he had been getting back his strenght, was getting around with a cane and will be seeing his doctor and will call me with a update. Praise The Lord!

UPDATE: 2/27/11

You know folks, as we get older we begin to think more and more about the second coming of Jesus OR of death. As I passed my 93rd birthday I like the idea of saying "I am 93" but only because I know I am that much closer to God's time to take me home to live with Jesus in that bright city and eternal future. With this malady of mine, I don't really know how long I have, but I intend to do all I can for him as long as I possibly can and able to get out GOD'S MEETING HOUSE until he's ready for me. I do have this to say. I have made the acquaintance of some lovely and wonderful people and gained so many great friends on the internet and I hope to see all of you again someday up there in heaven. I pray that each and every one of you make it and can hear God say, "Welcome home, faithful servant." Thank you all for allowing me to serve you and be a part of your life.
Reverend Howard

~ THE CALLING: IN HIS WORDS ~

After never being in a church for 25 years I attended a Assembly of God church when I was 50 years of age. On the second Sunday I attended, I could run no longer.  I gave my heart to Jesus.

  When I was 57 I felt God's call to the ministry and I answered the call even tho I couldn't see how he could use me at that age.  I started studying with the BEREAN SCHOOL OF THE BIBLE, an Assembly Of God institution.

  In 1974 just one week before Christmas, I was talking with God. I felt by spring I would complete  my studies and I prayed for God to send me a good Christian woman for a helpmate and to help with my 10 yr old daughter Who incidentally now helps pastor a church with her husband in Fontana, Southern Cal.. Without going thru a lengthy story, God sent Flora from Florida via Franklin, Ohio and on to a neighbor of mine. I met her, courted her, and on Feb. 20 were married.

  God began opening doors. We moved 13 times in 15 yrs. Penny was in 5 different high schools, but was always on the honor roll. Flora had a beautiful, soft alto voice and was a great help to the ministry. We held services in many places including Ohio, Kentucky, Texas, New Mexico And California. Served as Assoc. pastor in 3 churches in Cal. Ky, & Ohio, two of them six years each.

  The last one was at Bethel Assembly of God in Mt. Dora Florida for over six years.  Because of health problems I resigned from there when I was 83 years old. Shortly thereafter, I got the idea for GOD'S MEETING HOUSE, and I am sure the thought came directly from God. And it has grown from that until today approximately 200 readers are present for the service.

"Shepherd of my soul, thank you for making me part of your family. Thank you for the wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ who have blessed my life over the years. Thank you for their support and encouragement. Please use me to bless others in your family as these precious people have blessed and honored me. In the name of Jesus, your Son and my older brother, I pray." Amen.
Pastor Howard.

Pastor Howard has been a Credentialled Minister of The Assemblies Of God for over 27 years.

GOD'S MEETING HOUSE IS A ONE OF A KIND WORSHIP SERVICE WITH A NEW MESSAGE EACH WEEK AND  NEW MUSIC ALONG WITH LYRICS TO SING ALONG WITH TO MAKE A GREAT WORSHIP SERVICE FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T MAKE IT TO A LOCAL CHURCH SERVICE.

THIS WEBSITE IS UNDER THE DIRECTION OF, AND FOR THE GLORY OF, GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON, AND GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT.

WELCOME TO THE SERVICE--YOU ARE ENTERING THE SANCTUARY OF GOD'S MEETING HOUSE. WE PRAY THAT YOU WILL REACH OUT TO THE HOLY SPIRIT AND INVITE HIM INTO YOUR HEART.

THE SERMON IS BROUGHT TO YOU TODAY BY REVEREND HAROLD HOWARD. OPEN YOUR HEARTS AND LET THE HOLY SPIRIT BRING THIS MESSAGE FROM GOD!

THE SERMON TODAY IS TITLED,

~ WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DIE ? ~

We are proud to inform you that GOD'S MEETING HOUSE is being attended all over this great country of ours as well as over the world. We have contacts from most states as well as England, Hong Kong, New Zealand, India, South Africa and others. Praise the Lord!!

Friends, we are suggesting right now, that you slow down, and take time to relax. Drop whatever you are doing. Relax in your easy chair in front of your computer or webtv. Try to throw out the things of the world that worry you and drag you down. In your mind's eye, realize that the Holy Spirit is right there with you and you are not alone. Enjoy that roll and cup of coffee or orange juice and begin to think about the Lord. Let the Holy Spirit help to keep your mind on spiritual things instead of worldly things. Realize that Jesus knows all about your problems; is right there with you and wants you to accept his peace. He will continue to be there throughout this service if you will allow Him to be.

Now, Throw off your troubles and give them to Him and have a really wonderful service that will elevate your soul to the heavens with Him. PRAISE THE LORD!

There is something about singing praises unto the Lord that adds enthusiasm to our praise. We should never stop proclaiming to the world the wonderful works of the Lord. We should never be ashamed to tell others of God.

We are what is in our heart. If our heart is rejoicing it would be because we sought the Lord and found Him.
I am weak, but He is strong. In my weakness, He is strong. The desire of every believer is to be in the presence of the Lord. To look upon His face, to seek the will of the Lord in our life.

Prayer:
"Lord Jesus fill our hearts with love, gratitude and generously. May we pour out our life in loving service for you and for others, just as you have so generously poured yourself out in love for us. I thank you as I pray in your name. For all the honor and glory is yours. Amen."

LET'S PRAISE THE LORD WITH OUR SINGING AND HAVE A WONDERFUL SERVICE THAT BRINGS JOY TO OUR HEARTS. BY SINGING WE CAN EXPRESS OUR PRAISE TO GOD. LET'S GET INTO THE SERVICE WITH SOME MUSIC TO BRIGHTEN THE SOUL.

~ LET'S START OUT SINGING WITH,

~ PEACE IN THE VALLEY ~

Well, I'm tired and so weary,
But I must go along;
Till the lord will come and call, call me away,
Well the morning's so bright,
And the Lamb is the light;
And the night, night is as black as the sea.

There will be peace in the valley for me, some day,
There will be peace in the valley for me, oh Lord I pray;
There'll be no sadness, no sorrow,   trouble I see,
There will be peace in the valley for me.

Well the bear will be gentle,
And the wolf will be tame;
And the lion shall lay down, down by the lamb.

And the beasts from the wild,

Shall be led by a child;
And I'll be changed, changed from this creature that I am, oh yes.

There will be peace in the valley for me, some day,
There will be peace in the valley for me, oh Lord I pray
There'll be no sadness, no sorrow, no trouble I see.
There will be peace in the valley for me, for me.

AND NOW LET'S WALK WITH JESUS WHILE WE SING,

~ JUST A CLOSER WALK WITH THEE ~

I am weak, but Thou art strong,
Jesus, keep me from all wrong;
I'll be satisfied as long,
As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.

Chorus:
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea;
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

Through this world of toil and snares,
If I falter, Lord, who cares?
Who with me my burden shares?
None but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee.

Chorus: Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea;
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

When my feeble life is o'er,
Time for me will be no more;
Guide me gently, safely o'er,
To Thy kingdom shore, to Thy shore.

Chorus:  Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea;
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

NOW THEN, LET US SING,

~ OH HOW I LOVE JESUS ~

There is a Name I love to hear,
I love to sing its worth;
It sounds like music in my ear,
The sweetest Name on earth.

Refrain:
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Because He first loved me!

It tells me of a Savior's love,
Who died to set me free;
It tells me of His precious blood,
The sinner's perfect plea.

Refrain:
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Because He first loved me!

It tells of One whose loving heart,
Can feel my deepest woe;
Who in each sorrow bears a part,
That none can bear below.

Refrain:
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Because He first loved me!

It bids my trembling heart rejoice;
It dries each rising tear;
It tells me, in a "still small voice,"
To trust and never fear.

Refrain:
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Because He first loved me!

And there with all the blood-bought throng,
From sin and sorrow free,
I'll sing the new eternal song
Of Jesus' love for me.

Refrain:
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Because He first loved me!

AND NOW,HERE IS REVEREND HAROLD HOWARD WITH THE SERMON FOR TODAY.

~ WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DIE? ~

Today, I will us to start with just ONE verse of scripture, a verse in which Job posed "A God Question", one for which all people yearn to find an answer. Let's "ask" it together by reading our text in unison. The words are found in Job 14:14 "If a man dies, will he live again?" This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

I came across an interesting example of the extent to which some people go to deny death, in the form of an actual letter that appeared in Newsweek magazine a few years back. The letter had been sent to a dead person by the Greenville County South Carolina Department of Social Services. It said: "To whom it may concern: "Your food stamps will be stopped immediately, because we have received notice that you passed away. You may reapply if there is a change in your circumstances." I hope this was a computer error, surely no human actually wrote this letter, because everyone knows once you die you don't come back. There is no such thing as a "change of circumstances" once you die. Death is both incurable and irreversible.

Do you remember the fear you experienced when you first called that girl to ask her for a date or the feeling in your gut the first time you bought a house, or went to that job interview. The unknown can indeed be terrifying and, as I said, the greatest unknown is death.

The best antidote for fear of the unknown is information, so, let's go now to this Book of Truth that God has given us to search for information about death. How does the Bible answer this particular God Question? What happens when we die?

(1) First, God's Word teaches that the moment you die, your SPIRIT leaves your BODY.
This is a great place to start because, according to the Bible this is the definition of death. In James 2:26 we read,
"...the body without the spirit is dead."We know that when Jesus died on the cross He experienced this separation.

Do you remember some of the last words our Lord uttered before He died? He said,"Father into Your hands I commend My spirit." (Luke 23:46)So Jesus' died, when His spirit left His body. And do you remember when Jesus came to the daughter of Jarius who had died?

In Luke 8:54 it says, "Jesus took her by the hand and said, 'My child, get up!'Then it says,"Her spirit returned and she at once stood up."

(2) ...at death our bodies decay but our personalities don't. The physical decay of our bodies begins the moment we are born. It's a while before we notice it because for a few decades our bodies make more cells than it loses to decay, but eventually it falls behind, this decay really begins to accelerate as we reach middle age and when death occurs, when our spirits leave our bodies, this physical decay speeds up to the point that eventually our bodies, our earth suits, return to dust.

But this decay does not happen to our spirits, our personalities, even in death. The spirit that is uniquely you continues to exist. Do you remember what those two disciples on the road to Emmaus said after they realized the resurrected Jesus was their traveling Companion?

They said, "Were not our hearts burning within us while He talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?" In other words, they said, "He thought and spoke and acted just like Jesus! How could we have not recognized Him?!" Jesus' experience is a "first fruit" example of the fact that when we die we are the same people, minus our sinful flaws.

What happens when we die? Let's review: the Bible tells us that our spirit leaves our body and also that, whereas our body decays our personhood doesn't. You go on. This leads to a third reply the Scriptures give when it comes to answering this particular God question:

(3) ...At death we leave TIME and enter ETERNITY.
The same instant that our eyes close in death they open into eternity. There is no halfway place, no intermediate state, no period of soul sleep, no purgatory and in spite of what the movies tell us, our souls do not invisibly wander the earth for a while as ghosts. Remember, the heavens opened and received the martyr Stephen the moment he cried out, "Lord Jesus receive my spirit!" And "receive" is in the present tense. The Bible does clearly teach that when we die we don't cease existing, even for a moment, we immediately enter eternity.

I want us to talk briefly about what happens when people who accept Jesus die, by looking at what the Bible tells us about Heaven-about what eternity will be like for Christians.

(1) First, it says that we will be given NEW BODIES.
And Jesus' resurrected body gives us a preview, a first fruit taste, of what our new bodies will be like. For example, the Biblical record tells us that our Lord's new body was both similar and also different than it was prior to His death. For example, Jesus looked the same.

Remember? He showed the disciples the nail scars in His hands and feet, but even without those scars He was recognizable. We know this because the Bible tells us Jesus was identified some 11 times after His death.

Another thing, Jesus' new body was like His old one in that He was touchable, solid. On the first Easter Sunday morning Mary Magdalene held on to our solid, touchable Lord in the garden so tightly that He had to comfort her and in essence say, "You can let go of Me Mary, I have not yet ascended to My Father! I'm going to be here 40 whole days." Plus, like His old body, the resurrected Jesus ate food. Remember the fish He requested?

But at the same time His body was different. He could travel great distances instantly. He could walk through walls. He didn't seem to tire.
And, even old Job understood this promise. He said, "I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end He will stand upon the earth and after my skin has been destroyed-yet in my FLESH I will see God." (Job 19:25-27)

I'VE GOT A MANSION

(2) So, we'll have new bodies but we'll also have a NEW HOME to match! Jesus promised, "In My Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am."

A. There will be no tears. In Revelation 21:4 it says, "God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain for the old order of things has passed away." Think of it! This means there will be no tears caused by the pain of depression or sorrow in heaven, and one reason this is true is because there are things we won't ever say there. I mean, in Heaven you'll never say "good-bye" or "I hurt" or "I'm tired" or "I'm lonely" or "Time for my medication."

C. In Heaven there will be no fear. No one will suffer from anxiety attacks. We won't need locks on the doors, bars at the windows or alarm systems. Everything that causes fear will be eliminated. One of the greatest sources of fear and depression is darkness, and in Heaven we won't worry about that because everything will be light, and I don't know about you but I love light.

(3) God will be there. And whereas the absence of God will be what makes Hell a place of unimaginable torture, the presence of God is what will make Heaven a place of unimaginable joy.

One other thing I want to share is my belief that at the moment of death all this happens instantly. Many of us wonder about what happens for Christians who die before Jesus returns. We wonder what happens to us before our bodies are resurrected on that glorious day. We think, "If at death I leave time and enter eternity, what happens to the body I leave behind, a body that the Bible says will be resurrected one day?" I believe that, since we do cross from time to eternity at death, then in that crossing we skip ahead to the end of time. And I believe the Bible supports this.

Do you remember what Jesus told the repentant thief? "Today you will be with me in Paradise!" Ephesians 1:6 says, "God raised us up with Christ. He has seated us with Him in his heavenly kingdom because we belong to Christ Jesus." Did you notice the tense? "God has seated us with Him..." as if it has already happened!

AND IN CONCLUSION: In any case, the Bible does indeed answer this particular God question. Death is not the terrifying unknown for people who study His written Word. For the Christian death is not something to dread but rather something to look forward to.

The second question this knowledge of death confronts us with is for Christians and it is this: "Are you doing all you can to help others get ready for death?" Are you looking for every opportunity to share the secret of eternal life with everyone you can? Perhaps today you need to recommit yourself to this task.

A.N.Trotter was a noted Assemblies of God missionary. He spent many of his years in Africa. Brother Trotter lived in Rialto, California not far from Rialto First Assembly of God where I pastored for over six years. One day my senior pastor asked me to go visit Brother Trotter. He visited our church occasionally. As I recall, he was in his eighties and was very ill.

When I entered his home, I could feel the presence of God and I knew he was a real man of God. I visited him several times in the few weeks after that before he went to be with the Lord. I will never forget one of our talks. Brother Trotter said to me, "Brother Howard, don't ever forget. No matter how old you get. You will never be too old to talk to others about Jesus. That's what He saved us for." Then he said, "I know God is about finished with me here on this earth."
I'll never forget, "That's what He saved us for." So In closing, I ask you, What are you doing to tell others about Jesus? Are you doing all you can to help others get ready for death? This song tells it all

~ TOO MUCH TO GAIN TO LOSE ~

Too many miles behind me,
Too many trails are through;
Too many tears help me remember,
There's to much to gain to lose.

Chorus
Too many sunsets lie behind the mountain,
Too many rivers my feet have walked through;
Too many treasures are waiting over yonder,
There's too much to gain to lose.

I've crossed the hot burning desert,
I was struggling the right road to choose;
But somewhere up ahead there's cool clear water,
And defeat is one word I'll never use.

Chorus
Too many sunsets lie behind the mountain,
Too many rivers my feet have walked through;
Too many treasures are waiting over yonder,
There's too much to gain to lose.

I never like to close a service without knowing that everyone has had a chance to accept Jesus into their heart and become a Christian. If you are one of those today, don't go away without finding the greatest joy in the world. It doesn't matter what your age is (I was 50 yrs old when I found Jesus). He is reaching out to you. Try reaching out to him and your life will be changed dramatically.

.

LET US ALL NOW RISE UP AND PRAISE GOD IN SONG WITH,

Just as I am - without one plea,
But that Thy blood, was shed for me;
And that Thou bidst me, come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come!

Just as I am - and waiting not,
To rid my soul, of one dark blot;
To Thee, whose blood, can cleanse each spot,
O Lamb of God, I come!

Just as I am - though toss'd about,
With many a conflict, many a doubt;
Fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come!

Just as I am - poor, wretched, blind,
Sight, riches, healing of the mind;
Yea, all I need, in Thee to find,
O Lamb of God, I come!

Just as I am - Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise, I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come!

Just as I am - Thy love unknown,
Has broken every, barrier down;
Now to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,
O Lamb of God, I come!

Just as I am - of that free love,
The breadth, length, depth, and height to prove;
Here for a season, then above,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

AND NOW I WILL READ FROM THE SCRIPTURES,

"But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all." ~Isaiah 53:5-6~

"He made Him who knew no sin to be sin  on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." 2 Corinthians 5:21~

  "But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generouslythrough Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having thehope of eternal life." Titus 3:4-7~

To find salvation,you must admit that you're lost. "Have you thought of where you're going When thisearthly life is past? Call on the nameof Jesus and you will be saved."...

I ask you, If you were to die today, would you know positively that you would go to Heaven? You can you know, If you have or are willing to recieve Jesus into your heart and make Him your Lord and Savior of your life He will take you just as quickly as he did the thief on the cross with him. It says in Luke 23:43 He told him":...I TELL YOU THE TRUTH, TODAY YOU WILL BE WITH ME IN PARADISE."

All you need to do is pray this little prayer from the heart. He'll know you are sincere.

~ THE SINNERS PRAYER: ~

Lord, I know I'm a sinner,
and cannot save myself;
I need You as my Savior, Thank You for dying in my place and rising again.
I believe in You, Please forgive my sin; and let me live my life for you, making you the Lord of my Life.  In Jesus name I pray Amen.

AND NOW LET'S ALL STAND AND SING FOR OUR LAST HYMN, THAT OLD FAVORITE,

~ STANDING ON THE PROMISES ~

Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring;
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain:
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I'm standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail;
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain:
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I'm standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises I now can see,
Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;
Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,
Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain:
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I'm standing on the promises of God.

Please support artists by purchasing their music from your local music stores. Thanks you to all. I make these pages with the Lord's help and give Him all the praise and glory. I get nothing but the blessings the Lord gives me. Thanks to all for your continued support and prayers.
